Privacy policy

This page describes what data we collect, what we do with it and who it
is shared with. It covers four unrelated things: audience measurement, the assistant and the
messages you send us, advertiser accounts, and payments.

Who we are

bestin-philadelphia.com is published by TRAFIMEDIA SARL, a French company (see our
legal notice). Because the publisher is established in the European
Union, we apply the GDPR to everyone, wherever they live, and we also honor the rights of
California residents described at the end of this page. We do not sell personal information.

Advertisers and mailing list

When a business books a partner spot, we keep its listing details (business name, contact
details, description) and its email address. That address is added to our
advertiser mailing list, hosted by Brevo (a French company, data stored in the
European Union): it is used to keep the advertiser informed about its spot — position, competing
bids, invoices — and to send our advertiser news. Every message carries an unsubscribe link, and
the advertiser can ask for its data to be deleted at any time by writing to
[email protected]. Payments are handled by Stripe: we never see any card data. Network
emails (confirmation, position, invoices, advertiser account sign-in) are sent from
[email protected].

Advertiser account

The advertiser account (bestin-city.com/espace-annonceur/) works without a password: a sign-in
link valid for 15 minutes is emailed to you, then a strictly necessary session cookie, valid
for 30 days, keeps you signed in on that device. This cookie is not used for any tracking.
The “Sign out” button deletes it.

AI-assisted listing drafts

When a partner listing is created, the “Fill in with AI” button sends the business name, address
and public category to OpenAI (United States) to propose a description, which can be edited before
it is published. No personal data about the advertiser is sent.

Audience measurement

This site uses Matomo, hosted by us, configured without cookies and with anonymized IP
addresses: audience measurement with no cross-site tracking. Simply browsing the site collects no
personal data about you.

Assistant and messages

The assistant at the bottom of the page answers questions about the site from a knowledge base
we wrote ourselves. The text of your question is sent to OpenAI (United States), which writes the
answer; please do not type personal data into the conversation. Questions and answers are kept for
30 days, without any identifier, to improve the answers.

When you use “Write to us”, your name, your email, your message and the current conversation are
emailed to us (through Brevo) and you receive an acknowledgement. This information is used only to
handle your request: it is never sold, rented or passed on to third parties, and it is kept for as
long as the exchange requires.

Businesses listed in our rankings

The information we publish about businesses (name, address, phone number, rating, review count)
comes from public sources and is published for information only. Any business can ask for a
correction or removal through “Write to us”: we reply within two business days.

How long we keep things

Contact messages are kept for three years after the last exchange, then deleted.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, object to and port your data. To
use those rights, write to [email protected]; we answer within 30 days.
You may also complain to the French data protection authority, the
CNIL.

If you are a California resident, you also have the right to know what personal information we
hold about you, to ask us to delete it, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for
using those rights. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context
behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. Send any request to the same address.
