The 10 Best Chimney Sweeps in Philadelphia (2026)
Chimneys and fireplaces are a common concern across Philadelphia and its suburbs, whether for seasonal use or year-round ambiance. This list ranks local chimney sweeps using Google review data, updated for 2026, and applies a Bayesian-style score that weighs average rating by number of reviews so well-reviewed, consistently rated companies rise to the top. We focused on verifiable public feedback rather than hearsay; consider these rankings a starting point for comparing providers before you request estimates, confirm insurance, or ask about specific inspections or repairs.
This ranking is computed from Google reviews (our method). Listings marked Partner are paid advertising spots: they sit alongside the ranking without changing its order.

Frequently asked questions
How should I choose a chimney sweep in Philadelphia?
Look at both average rating and the number of reviews to gauge consistency, and check that the company is listed as a chimney sweep on public profiles. Also ask about insurance, written estimates, and any certifications or training the technician holds before booking.
What should I check before hiring a chimney sweep?
Confirm the business carries liability insurance and can provide a written estimate for the work. Ask whether they perform an inspection before cleaning, what the scope of the service includes, and whether they document findings in writing.
When is a good time to call a chimney sweep?
Schedule a sweep before the heating season or after long periods of inactivity, and call sooner if you notice smoke backdrafts, unusual odors, or visible debris. Regular inspections can help identify blockages, creosote buildup, or structural issues early.
How was this ranking built?
This list was generated from Google review data and updated in 2026, using a Bayesian-style approach that weights average rating by number of reviews so that consistently reviewed providers rank higher. It reflects public review metrics only and is intended to help compare options, not to replace on-site estimates or professional certifications.
