The 10 Best Ice Skating Rinks in Philadelphia (2026)
This list ranks the top ice skating rinks in the Philadelphia area using a Google-driven methodology (a Bayesian-style score: the average rating weighted by number of reviews). We updated the results for 2026 and prioritized places that combine high scores with review volume to reduce the effect of small sample sizes. Philadelphia and its suburbs offer a mix of public parks, training centers, and neighborhood arenas, so whether you’re looking for a casual skate, a lesson, or a practice surface, this roundup highlights options across the region based on what real reviewers say.
This ranking is computed from Google reviews (our method). Listings marked Partner are paid advertising spots: they sit alongside the ranking without changing its order.

Frequently asked questions
How should I choose the right ice skating rink?
Consider what you want—public sessions, lessons, hockey or figure practice—and then check each rink’s Google rating, review count, and posted schedule. Look for recent reviews that mention cleanliness, session availability, and whether rentals or instruction are offered.
What does it typically cost to skate at a rink?
Prices vary by venue and whether you need skate rental, public-session admission, or a lesson; suburban arenas and training centers can have different fee structures. Call ahead or check the rink’s website for up-to-date rates and any discounts for children, seniors, or group bookings.
What should I check before hiring a rink for a private event?
Confirm availability for your date and the exact hours you need, ask about insurance and liability requirements, and clarify what’s included (staff, skate rental, changing rooms, and cleanup). Also request a written estimate that lists any additional fees like deposit, overtime, or damage fees.
How was this ranking built?
