The 10 Best Dog Groomers in Philadelphia (2026)
Philadelphia pet owners rely on a mix of neighborhood salons and small grooming shops to keep dogs clean, healthy, and camera-ready. This list is built from Google review data and updated for 2026 using a Bayesian-style score that balances average rating with review volume. We prioritized businesses that combine high ratings with meaningful review counts so newer places with few reviews don’t leapfrog long-established favorites. Whether you live near a main corridor or deeper in the neighborhoods, this guide highlights where Philly customers are leaving consistently positive feedback.
This ranking is computed from Google reviews (our method). Listings marked Partner are paid advertising spots: they sit alongside the ranking without changing its order.

Frequently asked questions
How should I choose a dog groomer in Philadelphia?
Start by checking recent online reviews and the number of customer ratings to gauge consistency. Visit or call to ask about experience with your dog’s breed and coat type, sanitation practices, and whether they require vaccinations before grooming.
What services do groomers typically offer and when should I book?
Most groomers provide baths, haircuts, nail trims, ear cleaning, and sometimes de-shedding treatments; specialty services vary by shop. Book sooner if your dog needs a specific breed cut, before a special event, or when mats and dirt build up to avoid skin irritation.
What should I check during a visit or consultation?
Observe the facility’s cleanliness, ask about handling techniques for anxious dogs, and request information on how they manage emergencies. Also confirm pricing, estimated time, and whether you can watch or have updates during the groom.
How was this ranking compiled and why do review counts matter?
This list uses Google review averages weighted by review volume so highly rated businesses with more customer feedback rank reliably. A high average with many reviews generally indicates consistent performance over time, while a small number of perfect scores can be less certain.
